Fees and rebates

Clear fees, no surprises.

What sessions and assessments cost, and what you may be able to claim back.

Fees

Therapy sessions

  • First session

    $295

A 50 to 60 minute session where we get to know each other, talk about goals and plan next steps.

  • Ongoing sessions

    $280

Each 50 to 60 minute session after that, on Google Meet. Same fee for Medicare, private health and self-funded.

  • NDIS sessions

    $252.99

Per hour, in line with the NDIS price limit. For plan-managed and self-managed participants.

The first 15 minute chat is always free. Session fees include time for preparation and notes. Concession rates are available on request.

Rebates

What you can claim back

  • Medicare

With a GP referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare covers part of the fee for up to 10 sessions a calendar year. I can claim your rebate on the spot, so you only pay the gap. Your plan needs to be in place before your first session, as rebates can't be backdated.

  • NDIS

I'm not a registered NDIS provider, so I can see plan-managed and self-managed participants (not NDIA-managed). I invoice your plan manager, or you directly if you self-manage.

  • Private health

If your extras cover includes psychology, you may be able to claim part of the fee. Check with your fund first. You can claim Medicare or private health for a session, but not both.

Assessments

Assessment fees

  • ADHD assessment$1,900 to $2,100
  • Autism assessment$2,800 to $3,100
  • Combined ADHD and autism assessment$4,400 to $4,800
  • Cognitive assessment, including giftedness$1,900 to $2,100
  • Learning assessment$2,200 to $2,400
  • Functional Capacity Assessment (NDIS)$1,600 to $1,800
  • Diagnostic update letter$1,200 to $1,350
  • NDIS progress report$600 to $700

Every assessment includes

  • An intake session with parents or carers
  • Questionnaires for home and school
  • Assessment sessions built around your young person's interests
  • A chat with teachers or other professionals, if helpful
  • A clear written report with practical recommendations
  • A feedback session to talk it all through

These fees are a guide. The final fee depends on how much is needed, and I'll confirm it in writing before we start. Medicare doesn't cover most assessment costs, but some sessions may attract a rebate with a referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist.

FAQs

Fee questions

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

Yes, for therapy sessions, if you have a GP referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Medicare doesn't cover NDIS funded sessions, reports or most assessment work.

How do I pay?

You'll get an invoice after each session, due within 7 days. For Medicare sessions, I can claim your rebate on the spot so you only pay the gap.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 48 hours notice. Cancelling with 24 to 48 hours notice is charged at 50% of the fee, and within 24 hours at the full fee. Cancellation fees can't be claimed through Medicare or private health. I'm flexible when something unexpected comes up.

Do you offer reduced fees?

Yes, concession rates are available on request. Just ask in your first chat.

How do I get started?

Send an enquiry and we'll book a free 15 minute chat to see if we're a good fit. No referral needed.
